April 22, 2022

Media venture studio FAST Studios has announced partnerships with four key leagues and sports organizations to expand the programming slate for the upcoming Women’s Sports Network, a free, ad-supported, 24/7 streaming destination dedicated exclusively to women’s sports.

The Women’s Sports Network will welcome content from athlete-driven organization Athletes Unlimited, a network of player driven sports leagues that feature Olympians and world class athletes from around the world that include women’s professional softball, volleyball, lacrosse and basketball.

The Women’s Football Alliance joins as a league partner in addition to previously announced Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), U.S. Ski and Snowboard and World Surf League (WSL). Octagon, the world’s largest sports & entertainment agency, will deliver social content featuring their roster of high profile sports talent, quattro media, the adventure and action sports company, also joins the Women’s Sports Network’s team of collaborative partners: Sports Innovation Lab, GoodSport and Empower Onyx.

To complement live and archival games, docuseries and original content from Women’s Sports Network content partners, the 24/7 streaming channel will launch with “Game ON: Women’s Sports Daily,” a flagship daily and weekly women’s sports news, talk and highlights show from a dedicated studio space in Los Angeles.

Global marketing executive Nicole Vollebregt recently joined the Women’s Sports Network as interim CMO and FAST Studios’ Women’s Sports Network Advisory Board, led by ESPN veteran Carol Stiff, includes respected experts, executives and athletes: Stacey Allaster, Lindsay Amstutz, Allyson Felix, Kathleen Francis, Sophie Goldschmidt, LaChina Robinson, Angela Ruggiero and Renata Simril.

“We are thrilled to add these leading organizations and leagues to our growing roster of content partners for the Women’s Sports Network, delivering the best of women’s sports 24/7,” said FAST Studios CEO Stuart McLean. “Sports Innovation Lab estimates that by 2030, women’s sports could make upwards of 30% of the total global sports business marketplace, and we are engaging the rights holders, content producers and brand marketers who are tapping into the explosive growth of women’s sports.”

“With similar goals to build a meaningful community for the next generation of sports fans, the Women’s Sports Network is a natural fit for Athletes Unlimited as we seek to maximize our fan engagement and opportunities for athletes,” said Jon Patricof, CEO and Co-Founder of Athletes Unlimited. “FAST offers an accessible option for fans to stream Athletes Unlimited content and generate increased visibility for our leagues and women’s sports as a whole.”

FAST Studios’ Board of Directors includes Leigh Radford, Stuart McLean, investors Rocco Benetton and Alex Ramlie, as well as entertainment finance visionary Michael Montgomery and globally-respected brand marketing thought-leader Charlie Windisch-Graetz.
