Innovation Nation celebrates 200th episode on CBS

“The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation,” for nearly a decade a mainstay of CBS’ Saturday morning “The Dream Team” lineup, celebrates its 200th episode on April 30 – and its production company, Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG), is marking the occasion with special content across the show’s social channels honoring the popular educational/informational program as well as longtime partner The Henry Ford.

Hosted by Mo Rocca, also a “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent, the 14-time Emmy-nominated and three-time Emmy-winning  “The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation” tells the fascinating stories behind innovators throughout our history, the forward-looking visionaries of today, and the extraordinary talents and dedication required to bring their inventions to life.  The program — drawing nearly 1.2 million total weekly viewers — begins its ninth season this fall.

“Over the years, ‘Innovation Nation’ has provided crucial early exposure to technological innovations that have become essential tools of our daily lives,” said Bryan Curb, executive vice president and general manager, education/information (E/I) of HMPG.  “The Henry Ford, CBS and Mo Rocca have been tremendous partners for this highly honored, successful program.”

In celebrating the 200th episode across the show’s official social channels, including @CBSInnovationTV and using the hashtag #InnovationNation200, producers will delve into the archives of the first 199 episodes to showcase some of the top inventors and inventions, reflecting various aspects of technology including top artifacts and exhibits hosted at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan.  Also featured will be exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with Rocca and series correspondents Alie Ward and Albert Lawrence.
