WaterBear Network, the free streaming service dedicated to the future of the planet, has launched its app across Comcast’s Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex and XClass TV entertainment platforms.

With the launch, WaterBear Network’s impact-led original documentaries spanning biodiversity, community, circularity, climate action and sustainable fashion aim to inspire positive change for millions of viewers across the US.

Founded by the executive producer of Oscar-winning My Octopus Teacher, Ellen Windemuth, WaterBear Network’s content engages viewers with critical global issues as well as the causes and campaigns of more than 140 NGOs.

Head of Distribution at WaterBear Network, Oliver Taprogge, commented: “We are thrilled to partner with Comcast to raise awareness of critical global issues. Our award-winning content that tells the world’s untold environmental stories, will inspire and educate users to create a better future for our planet. Comcast is a great partner that believes in content that drives deeper impact and change.  Our launch within the Comcast ecosystem will ensure we reach new audiences with our inspiring content.

Comcast customers can access WaterBear Network on X1, Flex or XClass TV by saying “WaterBear” into their voice remote, or by finding it within each device’s app section. Comcast’s entertainment products and experiences, including Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex and XClass TV, are powered by the company’s global technology platform, which seamlessly combines voice search, discovery, apps and interactive features into one intuitive experience.

Additionally, 4KUniverse, the American 4K HDR TV Network, has announced its 4K resolution general entertainment streaming service will launch across Comcast’s entertainment platforms later this year, including Xfinity X1, Xfinity Flex and XClass TV.
