GroupM UK names new investment MDs

GroupM UK, WPP’s media investment group, has announced the appointment of Carl Nawgamuwa and Jonathan Masterson as Managing Directors of GroupM Investment.
Reporting to Simon Willis, Chief Investment Officer, GroupM UK, Nawgamuwa and Masterson will be responsible for driving the continued deployment of GroupM’s Responsible Investment Framework, which focuses on brand safety, data ethics, diversity & inclusion, responsible journalism, and sustainability. They will also lead the expansion of the investment team and drive further integration with agency teams and GroupM’s partners within the UK.
Nawgamuwa joins from Google, where he spent the last five years in Singapore and London leading the Google Marketing Platform sales and Technology Partner Strategy teams. Before Google, Nawgamuwa held senior roles at MEC UK in TV and Digital Investment positions before joining Xaxis Singapore. He will take up the role in July.

Masterson has been Trading Director at GroupM UK since joining in 2019, having moved from MediaCom where he most recently held the position of Partner and Head of AV. Masterson joined MediaCom from OMD UK in 2015, where he was previously Head of AV.
