September 1, 2022

Broadpeak, a provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming solutions for content providers and pay-TV operators worldwide, has announced a new Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) application on its software as a service (SaaS) platform. Broadpeak’s fully managed, API-based SaaS simplifies the delivery of targeted advertising in live and VOD streaming content, increasing monetisation for video service providers.

“Content monetisation is critical to video streaming success, and we’re excited to provide customers with a one-stop-shop solution that simplifies targeted advertising,” said Mathias Guille, vice president, cloud platform at Broadpeak. “ is the first self-serve software solution to offer DAI as a service that is agnostic to the different components of the video delivery chain, reducing the complexity typically associated with end-to-end advertising ecosystems and speeding up the monetisation of advanced OTT services.” DAI as a service utilises server-side ad insertion technology pre-integrated with all major ad servers on the market, reducing the time to market for targeted ad streaming services and enabling OTT service providers to start monetising their content quickly. The DAI application leverages standard IAB interfaces and protocols such as VAST and VMAP to streamline targeted ad distribution. DAI as a service provides full visibility into the advertising platform, offering enhanced, data-based observability and robust security.

As part of the content preparation capabilities, DAI as a service automatically leverages ABR video transcoding and audio normalisation with loudness control technology on ad creatives to ensure quality of experience for end users. By boosting ad quality, DAI as a service maximises ad impression potential. DAI as a service streamlines the delivery of targeted ads in live programmatic workflows and unknown ad pod sequences while enabling publishers to easily perform branding with slate or promo content. Furthermore, a live pre-roll feature allows operators to insert an ad pod when viewers start watching a channel or change channels, creating additional monetisation opportunities. Pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll targeted ad insertion for VOD and catch-up TV are also supported on DAI as a service.

Ultimately, DAI as a service enables streaming providers to immediately and fully leverage the monetisation potential of linear and asset catalog ad inventory, with minimal effort.

Running on the cloud, DAI as a service offers unparalleled scalability, dynamicity, and agility, helping solve the complexity of streaming distribution. is backed by 24/7 customer support, providing a seamless service that is approachable for companies of all sizes.
