myco signs first look deal with The Bridge

December 6, 2022

myco, a web3 video streaming, funding, production, and distribution platform where viewers earn from watching content and creators earn from creating content, have announces a first look partnership with The Bridge, a leading international film and TV co-production accelerator working with the UK, US and Asian creative industries.
The deal, penned by myco Chief Content Officer, Phil McKenzie and The Bridge CEO Amanda Groom, sees The Bridge having a first look deal to source, specifically from the S.E Asia region, distribution and sales deals, co-production or funding partners for myco original titles. In return, myco will have a ‘first look’ deal to commission, acquire, fund or co-produce content that is sourced by The Bridge, specifically from the S.E. Asia region.
myco, the recently rebranded platform, previously known as MContent, and The Bridge will jointly develop a slate of projects sourced from talent and companies within the S.E. Asia region. Myco will ring fence and allocate, in editorial partnership with The Bridge, a development fund of $100,000 into IP or projects signed to this slate, with a goal of delivering 3-5 original productions per year.
It is the first major step by myco as it seeks to engage and building relationships with a rich creative region that is quickly becoming the centre of the entertainment industry. The Asian market is key for myco in terms of Watch & Earn viewership and early adopters on tech and crypto, as seen by the rise of play2earn games in recent years.
Amanda Groom, CEO of The Bridge, said: “The Bridge is thrilled to be involved in this exciting new initiative with myco. myco’s significant investment into the development of Asian content reveals the company’s commitment to the role of The Bridge in developing content across all Asia and in stimulating the two-way flow of content from and to Asia to the international market. This investment, combined with The Bridge’s determination, will really impact on programme sales figures and further drive the growth of creativity across the whole of the Asian region.”
Chief Content Officer of myco, Phil McKenzie, added: “We are excited to partner with Amanda who will help us navigate a key region for myco from both a content and audience perspective. We look forward to uncovering and empowering SE Asian stories and creators through our web3 content ecosystem and distributing the finished productions using our innovative Watch & Earn platform”.
