Werner joins Technetix Strategic Advisory Board

Technetix has hired Tony Werner as a strategic advisor. He will support Paul Broadhurst, Founder and CEO of Technetix Group with the continuing strategic development of the broadband solutions company.Werner recently retired from Comcast Cable, where his 15-year legacy as Chief Technology Officer and then President, Technology, Product, Xperience, accelerated the pace of innovation within Comcast.Prior to Comcast, Werner served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Liberty Global, in Englewood, CO, where he led the company’s global strategy for video, voice and data services. He has more than 40 years of engineering and technical management experience, having also held senior management positions with Qwest Communications, Aurora Networks, TeleCommunications (TCI)/AT&T Broadband, Rogers Communications and RCA Cablevision Systems.  Werner said: “It’s my pleasure to be invited to join the strategic advisory board advising the Technetix leadership team as they celebrate 15 years in the USA. Technetix sits at the intersection of critical next generation technologies such as DOCSIS 4.0 and XGS-PON, which Technetix customers’ and the broadband industry depend on”.Broadhurst added: “I am very pleased to welcome Tony Werner to our strategic advisory board to help us continue developing and growing our business in Broadband Cable, Fiber Systems, Wireless Access and Power Systems. Tony’s advice and experience will be invaluable in supporting Technetix’ continuing development of technology and services for broadband networks”.Werner served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and the SCTE Foundation from 2015-2017. He has been inducted into the Cable and Broadcast Hall of Fame, as well as the Cable Center Hall of Fame. In 2000, Werner received the NCTA Vanguard award for Science and Technology and in 2016 he received a Technical Emmy award for Lifetime Achievement.
