The adaptation of video game The Last of Us is proving to be a huge hit for Sky with the first episode reaching over 3.05 million UK viewers, reflected in the 7-day cumulative audience figure. The Last Of Us marks Sky Atlantic’s second-biggest US drama debut, behind only House of the Dragon which launched in August 202.
With over three times as many viewers now having seen the first episode compared to the initial UK overnights, the 7-day cumulative figure for episode two is building into the millions. Episode three, which aired on January 30th and starred Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman, exceeded episode two overnight ratings as viewing for the series continues to rise.
Zai Bennett, MD of Content at Sky, commented: “With its standout episodes, the response to The Last of Us has been truly remarkable and the phenomenal viewing figures have shown just how infectious the series is.”
The Last of Us has already been renewed for a second season. Viewers in the UK and Ireland can check out the first episode for free via the Sky YouTube channel.
