Jeremy and Jazzy makes UK premiere on Tiny Pop
February 11, 2023
Vérité International Distribution and Bejuba! Entertainment has announced that Narrative Entertainment UK has acquired the UK streaming rights for the CBC Kids original hit music series Jeremy and Jazzy (55 x 2 minute + 2 specials). The series will make its UK premiere on Tiny Pop and stream on the POP Player on February 11, 2023. Jeremy and Jazzy is an earwormy musical series based on the music of Jeremy Fisher, who celebrates feelings, stories, and friendship through song.
CBC Kids, the children’s programming branch of Canada’s national public broadcaster, has commissioned a second season of 28 x 2 minutes. New episodes of Jeremy and Jazzy will debut in Canada on CBC and CBC Gem in 2023 and 2024. Season 1 of Jeremy and Jazzy is available to stream now on CBC Gem and CBC Kids’ YouTube channel.
Additionally, the Jeremy and Jazzy debut album, Say Hello, has just been nominated for Children’s Album of the Year by the premiere Canadian music awards, the JUNOS. All songs are written by singer, composer, co-creator and executive producer Jeremy Fisher and are performed by Fisher (Jeremy) and actress, singer and producer Aiza Ntibarikure (Jazzy). Backup vocals are performed by children from the Dixon Hall Music School, the Canadian Children’s Opera Company, and Music For Young Children in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Jeremy and Jazzy made its Canadian debut on CBC Kids in September 2022. The brand’s official YouTube channel, launched concurrently, has recently passed 1 million views.
“We’re so happy to be partnering with Narrative Entertainment to bring Jeremy and Jazzy to kids across the UK on Tiny POP,” says Virginia Thompson, President of Vérité Films, co-creator and executive producer of Jeremy and Jazzy.
“I’ve had so much fun working with Jeremy and the team on the music, designing the character of Jazzy (I’m in love with her hair!) and reconnecting with my inner child in the process,” said Aiza Ntibarikure. “The message this project communicates to children and families is about the power of friendship and music.”
“Over the pandemic, I spent a lot of time writing songs with and for my kids as we navigated lockdowns, virtual school and, simply, childhood,” said Jeremy Fisher. “I captured small moments in scratchy voice memos, which grew into a collection of dozens of songs. To see them receive this kind of a response is so incredibly gratifying.”
“Jeremy and Jazzy’s catchy songs and positive messages have resonated with Canadian families, and we’re thrilled that UK audiences will be able to join the fun on Tiny POP,” said Marie McCann, Senior Director, Children’s Content, CBC Kids. “We look forward to a second season of tunes brought to life by Jeremy and Aiza alongside the talented team at Vérité Films.”
The coming months will also see the continued growth of Jeremy and Jazzy Learn, a free and fun series of educational resources for Junior Kindergarten-Grade 2 that brings music into the home and classroom to help kids with literacy skills and more. Developed with experts in early childhood education from Sheridan College, there are over 90 activities available with more added every week.
2023 will bring exclusive touring shows and books, fulfilling the brand’s mission to inspire kids and parents to sing, dance, create and learn together.
