Allente releases Google TV dongle

February 23, 2023

The Nordic TV distributor Allente has launched the Allente Streaming Hub – a Google TV streaming dongle, with Chromecast and Bluetooth built-in. Allente’s TV app is pre-installed on the device, as well as many other streaming services.

Users can access both linear TV channels and streaming services via the Allente Streaming Hub, which comes with a voice-enabled remote control.

“Allente Streaming Hub is the perfect technology for those who want quick and easy access to their TV selection. Above all, we believe that it will be popular among our growing number of streaming customers, and among those customers who wish to add a TV solution to the existing solution, for example in their summer or winter homes,” said Mahmoud Mustapha, Chief Commercial Officer at Allente.

“The launch of the Allente Streaming Hub, and the fact that we are the first in the EMEA region with a customized operator streaming dongle using Google TV, has been made possible through partnership between Allente, Google, and SEI Robotics. It will be incredibly exciting to get customers’ feedback about the Allente Streaming Hub, and look into the next steps in our journey towards being even more customer-centric,” commented Jon Espen Nergård, Chief Technical Officer at Allente.

”The Google TV interface gives operators the benefit of Google’s best in class capabilities while reducing operator investments and time to market. We congratulate Allente on launching their new Google TV device as one of our first operator partners globally,” added Amanda Short, Director, Global TV Platform Partnerships, Google.

First price point

Allente Streaming Hub costs SEK 792 / NOK 792 / DKK 576 at launch, and can be purchased via Allente’s website. The product is launched simultaneously in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and soon Finland.
