Bridgerton prequel at Netflix #1

Netflix viewers flocked to Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story as the series debuted atop the English TV List with 148.28 million hours viewed, making it the most viewed title in the week commencing May 1st. The series has more than 22 million views in its first week (148.28 million hours viewed divided by 6.49 runtime hours). The Shondaland Bridgerton-verse prequel appeared in the Top 10 in 91 countries. 

Returning favourites on the Netflix TV list included Seasons 1 and 2 of Sweet Tooth (just renewed for a third season), which had 25.18 million hours viewed and 60.47 million hours viewed, respectively; Season 1 and the final episodes of Season 2 of Firefly Lane; and the 7th and final season of Workin’ Moms (15.11 million hours viewed). Rounding out the list were political dramas The Diplomat (31.15 million hours viewed) and The Night Agent (26.88 million hours viewed) and Beef, in its fifth week, with 14.79 million hours viewed.

A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks, topped the English Film list with 13.48 million hours viewed. The movie is not available to Netflix subscribers in the UK.

On the Non-English Films side, French action-adventure AKA held the Netflix #1 spot with 49.32 million hours viewed. In just 10 days, the film has entered the Most Popular list in the #7 spot with 81.85 million total hours viewed. Thai thriller Hunger pulled in an additional 5.58 million hours viewed and moved into the #8 spot on the Most Popular List with 80.91 million total hours viewed. Polish romantic comedy Kiss, Kiss!, Turkish thriller Chokehold, Mexican comedy Queens on the Run and Korean action-adventure Kill Boksoon remained on the list. 

Meanwhile, new Turkish drama The Tailor topped the Non-English TV List with 26.14 million hours viewed. Other new titles to the list include Korean comedy The Good Bad Mother (9.17 million hours viewed) and Japanese drama Sanctuary (9 million hours viewed). Viewers also returned to their favourites including  Seasons 1 and 2 of Colombian drama The Marked Heart, Danish thriller The Nurse, Season 2 of Spanish drama Welcome to Eden, Korean dramas Doctor Cha and Queenmaker, and Belgian drama Rough Diamonds.
