May 17, 2023

The Associated Press and the National Football League have announced an extension of their commercial photo agreement, continuing AP’s status as the worldwide commercial licensing agent of the NFL through the 2027-28 season.

The AP football photo archive includes defining, unique and powerful images documenting the complete NFL experience, including games, players and events, such as the NFL Draft and the Pro Bowl.

“A lot has changed since we first entered into our relationship as the exclusive commercial photo provider of the NFL 14 years ago,” said Lloyd Pawlak, AP’s global director of sales for commercial services. “What has remained a constant, however, is the NFL’s growing reach and popularity, which make it the leader in professional sports. We are pleased to continue our valuable relationship.”

“We are excited to continue our relationship with the AP,” added Brent Lawton, vice president of media strategy and business development for the NFL. “AP’s expertise, global coverage both on and off the field, and commitment to excellence are all an incredible benefit to our partners and fans.”

As the definitive source for NFL imagery, AP and its photographers have captured the core of the NFL’s history including every Super Bowl since the first in 1967.

AP provides instant access to AP’s iconic photos and adds new content every minute of every day from every corner of the world, making it an essential source of over 60 million photos and graphics for professional image buyers and commercial customers.
