Parade announces Derelict Rescue season 2
June 21, 2023
Parade Media Group has announced the renewal of Air TV’s landmark restoration series Derelict Rescue for HGTV in the UK & Ireland.
This ten-part series for Warner Bros Discovery’s HGTV channel, follows Britain’s most ambitious home builders as they breathe new life into the country’s former architectural wonders. Moving from crumbling railway stations and disused lighthouses to derelict RAF bases and imposing water towers, we experience the highs and lows of these brave self—building families as they bring their ambition, skill, grit, and vision to bear in transforming some of the most neglected relics of history into unique homes of the future.
In a bold new format, this series of epic projects stretches the limits of planning laws, building technology, the builders’ finances, and personal endurance. It gets closer than ever before to the realities of ambitious self-builds, all the while unearthing fascinating facts, and celebrating the passion that is saving some of the country’s most captivating buildings.
The Nine Network, Australia, Prima TV, Czech Republic, AMC, Hungary, Talpa, Netherlands, and Discovery (Living TV), New Zealand are the first broadcasters to acquire the series for premiere in 2023.
Air TV’s Managing Director, Matt Richards said: “We are incredibly excited to be working with Warner Bros Discovery and Parade on this second series of Derelict Rescue. The unique format of this series means viewers get much closer to the real emotions involved in tackling such ambitious homebuilding projects. We are alongside our homebuilders at every stage of the builds, sharing the real strains and pressures they face and how they are overcome. The series is a really uplifting celebration of design, endurance and passion.”
Parade’s CEO, Matthew Ashcroft, said: ”We are incredibly excited to bring buyers the highly anticipated new season of Derelict Recue, and another landmark series from Air TV, one of the UK’s leading factual producers”.
