June 28, 2023
Multi-award winning media agency, World of Wonder, has announced the second season of Queen of the Universe will land on their owned streaming platform, WOW Presents Plus, from July 1st.
Following its run on Paramount+, the second season will be available exclusively on WOW Presents Plus globally (excluding U.S.) as a full box set, where it will sit alongside the first season of Queen of the Universe and a premium roster of Drag Race and World of Wonder content – including the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8, all the international versions of Drag Race including the recently launched Drag Race Mexico, an array of World of Wonder Originals including UNHhhh with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova, and a back catalogue of World of Wonder’s award-winning documentaries including The Eyes of Tammy Faye, which served as the basis for the 2021 Oscar-winning biographical film of the same name.
“We know the WOW Presents Plus audience will welcome this addition to the platform with open arms. We can’t wait to introduce these fierce and incredibly talented queens from around the world to our extended family” say World of Wonder Co-Founders, Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. “We’re always proud to lift and showcase new talent and the second season of Queen of the Universe will be in fabulous company in its new home, sitting alongside the first season of the show, all our international iterations of Drag Race and everything else that’s WOW.”
Queen of the Universe follows the world’s most talented drag queens as they battle it out for global domination and countries go head-to-head spotlighting their top talent.
Hosted by five-time BAFTA TV Award winner Graham Norton, each episode features the world’s fiercest queens as they debut a new musical performance in front of a studio audience and the “Pop Diva Panel” of judges, in the hopes of being crowned the “Queen of the Universe.” In the second season, global superstar Mel B joins the returning judges including platinum-selling recording artist, three-time Emmy-winning producer and judge of RuPaul’s Drag Race Michelle Visage; multi-Emmy and Grammy nominee Vanessa Williams; and American drag superstar Trixie Mattel.
The Queen of the Universe season two cast includes Aura Eternal (Palermo, Italy), Chloe V (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Jazell Royale (Orlando, Fla., U.S.), Love Masisi (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Maxie (Manila, Philippines), Militia Scunt (San Francisco, Calif., U.S.), Miss Sistrata (Tel Aviv, Israel), Taiga Brava (Cancun, Mexico), Trevor Ashley (Sydney, Australia) and Viola (Coventry, England, U.K.).
Global drag icon and multi-Emmy Award winner RuPaul serves as an executive producer on the series, alongside MTV Entertainment Studios and World of Wonder, the producers of the Emmy Award-winning franchise RuPaul’s Drag Race.
