Jouning leaves Condé Nast to join Freeda
July 5, 2023
Freeda, the digital media group and technology marketing platform, has announced the appointment of a new Global Chief Revenue Officer and UK Country Manager, Jamie Jouning.
Jouning will work closely with CEO and Co-Founder, Andrea Scotti Calderini, to accelerate the growth and expansion of the business in the UK and internationally, whilst maintaining its core mission to create content that drives cultural conversations and marketing strategies to fuel growth for the brands.
This appointment comes as Freeda aims to strengthen its voice and presence in the UK, as part of its broader strategy of global expansion, tech development, and consolidated growth in multiple markets.
Building out this strategy will be a key focus for Jouning, as Freeda continues to establish itself as a digital media for those who aren’t represented in traditional or mainstream media. Telling stories that matter by partnering with impactful brands is at the heart of Freeda’s mission, as it grows its loyal community of gen Zs and millennials.
Another key area of focus will be to expand the business of Freeda’s technology marketing platform, helping brands become more relevant by leveraging social media channels as tools to listen to consumers, engage them while growing business results. Using data to inform creativity and plan media investments more effectively is at the core of this area of the business.
Jouning joins with over 25 years of experience in media, advertising, fashion and luxury. He spent much of his career at Condé Nast, serving as Chief Revenue Officer and then Global Chief Client Officer, before leaving in 2022. He was responsible for launching Wired’s UK brand and led Condé Nast’s digital arm in its early stages.
Jouning commented: “I’m thrilled to join a rapidly expanding business that combines data-inform storytelling with representation in media. Freeda’s deep understanding of the social ecosystem and dedication to creating performative content for individual platforms is truly compelling. With the talented UK team, Freeda’s growth knows no limits.”
Scotti Calderini, CEO and Co-Founder of Freeda, added: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Jamie to the Freeda team. Jamie has a wealth of experience that aligns with our ambitions to position Freeda as a leader in the marketing services business internationally. With an impressive track record of delivering revenue and growth strategies and expanding large digital brands in the international market, we’re excited to see his impact on the business.”
