Corner Gas lands in the UK on Samsung TV Plus

Prairie Pants Distribution (Vérité Films and 335 Productions) has announced that all 107 episodes of the hit comedy franchise Corner Gas and Corner Gas: The Movie are available for the first time on FAST in the UK with Samsung TV Plus. The entire live-action brand offering launches today on Samsung TV Plus on the Comedy Hub channel.
“Believe me, when I originally wrote the treatment for a show about a rural gas station, I did not expect all this,” said series creator, executive producer and star Brent Butt. “To get such huge audiences in Canada, and then in the States, and now this? To know that everyone in the UK with a Samsung TV can now see Corner Gas on FAST, is very exciting.”
Originally launched in January 2004 on Bell Media’s CTV network, Corner Gas, a comedy about a whole lot of nothing in the middle of nowhere, quickly established itself as a runaway hit, and has become one of the most successful comedy brands in Canadian history. It was created by and stars comedian Brent Butt, who stars alongside Gabrielle Miller (Lacey Burrows), Fred Ewanuick (Hank Yarbo), Eric Peterson (Oscar LeRoy), Janet Wright (Emma LeRoy), Lorne Cardinal (Officer Davis Quinton), Tara Spencer-Nairn (Officer Karen Pelly), and Nancy Robertson (Wanda Dollard). Corner Gas has received over 100 awards and nominations, including 7 Gemini Awards and 9 Canadian Comedy Awards. Corner Gas: The Movie came from popular demand and a successful Kickstarter campaign, sold out theatres across Canada, and reached over 7 million television viewers, making it the highest rated Canadian scripted program of the year when it debuted in December, 2014.
