Mediapro Studio names US, Canada team

The Mediapro Studio US / Canada -the North American business unit has established its Los Angeles-based leadership team with the new hires of Erika Kennair as Head of Scripted Content and Pam Healey as Head of Unscripted Content reporting to Juan (JC) Acosta, Head of The Mediapro Studio US / Canada. In their new roles, Kennair and Healey will lead the fiction and non-fiction television development slate for the division, while expanding the company’s English-language footprint in LA’s creative landscape.

In support of the company’s upcoming autumn 2024 slate, Acosta has now set his North American leadership team with Kennair and Healey, together with new hires Ari Tan as Head of Strategy and Operations and Robert Haiat as Head of Commercial in LA. Additionally, Leslie Cohen, Head of Global Acquisitions, and Juan Pablo Santos, SVP Content and Business Development, both based in New York, join the new leadership team.

These moves expand upon CEO Laura Fernández Espeso’s recently announced strategy of accelerating The Mediapro Studio’s existing model of global content offerings in the creation, production, and distribution of all genres of English language content including Scripted Series, Non-Scripted, Reality and Entertainment Shows, Documentaries, and Feature Films. It also solidifies the company’s position in the US and Canada with new headquarters in LA and expands the global reach of its parent company, Mediapro, which now has 52 offices across 29 countries around the world.

As Head of Scripted Content, Kennair (pictured, left) will be in charge of the creative development and production of new scripted content across all genres, working collaboratively with creative talent. Kennair said: “I’m thoroughly impressed with the brilliant creative foundation and robust library that Laura Fernández Espeso and her team have established, and I look forward to collaborating with JC to further expand that legacy into the US and Canada.”

In her new role as Head of Unscripted Content, Healey (pictured, right) will oversee the development and production of new unscripted content, focusing on entertainment formats (e.g., competition elimination, game, dating, food), and docuseries. Healey commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining The Mediapro Studio in building its unscripted business in the US and Canada.
