SAT-7 revamps operations with ABS
August 2, 2024

SAT-7, a specialist in Christian television broadcasting, has shifted its entire operation to ABS in London. Broadcasting four channels in three languages across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe, SAT-7 chose ABS as their technical partner to migrate their technology to the new generation and streamline their vendor landscape.
This move consolidates over 29 years of disparate vendors into ABS’s Gen-5 technology, integrating services like playout, broadcast management, deep archive, MAM, studios, live broadcast, and management reports into a single, user-friendly system.
“As one of the first satellite broadcasters in the ’90s, we decided to transition our playout system to find a comprehensive solution provider that could serve both our OTT and satellite requirements. Our aim was to incorporate automation into playout, archive management, and VOD publishing processes to minimise operational time. With over 200 staff worldwide, we needed to adapt to changing viewing habits. ABS, a trusted long-time partner, made this daunting migration seamless with their outstanding onboarding team.” commented Antoine Karam, Broadcast and IT Director, SAT-7.
“We understand the challenges of migrating and consolidating established technologies. Our expertise lies in simplifying these processes for broadcasters. As early adopters of satellite TV face technological obsolescence, we’ve developed software and technologies to help them streamline and prepare for future growth. Partnering with SAT-7 exemplifies our commitment to leading broadcasters into the next phase of their evolution,” added Sass Jahani, Managing Director, ABS Broadcast.
