EE launches next-gen Smart Hub Pro, Smart WiFi Pro
September 17, 2024
EE has announced the launch of the Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro, enabling its broadband customers to be among some of the first in the world to benefit from the latest Wi-Fi standard – Wi-Fi 7.
EE has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to deliver top speeds and performance of home Wi-Fi with the new WiFi 7 Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro powered by Qualcomm’s Networking Platforms. EE Full Fibre customers will be among the first to experience Wi-Fi 7, specifically designed to meet the growing demands of a connected home, meaning better cloud gaming, AR/VR and 4K/8K video streaming.
Overall, this will allow EE customers to benefit from gigabit Wi-Fi throughout their house with faster speed, less interference, more capacity and better performance to support the many high-bandwidth activities of the future. The Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro feature tri-band tech, using the extra 6Ghz channel with 320 Mhz channel bandwidth allowing much broader capacity (Wi-Fi 6E is 160Mhz).
When used with the EE app, customers set up the best connection with control features including WiFi Enhancer, an add-on that allows customers to prioritise their work from home or gaming traffic via ‘Game Mode’ or ‘Work Mode’. This comes in addition to Advanced Web Protect which helps to keep devices safe by blocking online malicious threats and Safe Search.
The Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro casing is made from 95 per cent recycled plastic, and EE’s 100 per cent recyclable packaging uses 100 per cent recycled materials.
When used together with the new Smart Hub Pro, Smart WiFi Pro will give Full Fibre 150 and above customers a minimum of 100Mbps connection in every room, with a money back guarantee.
The Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro are included as standard on EE’s 1.6Gbps Busiest Home and Made for Gamers bundles. Alternatively, the Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro add-ons are available to Full Fibre customers taking out EE Full Fibre 150 and above for £10 per month
