Record broadcasters for 2024 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

A record 37 broadcasters will showcase the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on October 6th live from ParisLongchamp Racecourse, seeing the global audience treble over a three-year period.

HBA Media, France Galop’s global horse racing distribution partner, has secured a record number of international broadcasters for the 103rd running of the famous fixture through strong broadcast packages.

The offerings include:

  • The one-hour live magazine show – The Golden Hour – that caters specifically for Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe’s ever growing international audience.  Presented by Tom Stanley alongside UK social media talent Frankie Foster, the show focuses on the principal race with lifestyle interviews, additional features produced by World Horse Racing and in-running coverage provided by Equidia.
  • The five-hour World Feed produced by Equidia, featuring the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and a collection of elite Group 1 races, is also available to broadcasters.

In the UK, ITV will return to ParisLongchamp with a prolonged Sunday broadcast live on ITV3, with Oli Bell on-course in a roving reporter role. British coverage is furthered by Sky Sports Racing, who will showcase the entire raceday.

In France, M6 and BFM Paris will be on-site to present a broadcast around the €5,000,000 feature race. Domestic coverage will be supplemented by Equidia.

Pan-European coverage has been secured through a first-time deal with the EBU’s OTT platform, Eurovision Sport, which will show the full World Feed in 20 previously un-tapped European territories.

Other first-time broadcasters include:

  • ESPN and Disney+ showcasing the event in 50 territories across Central and South America.
  • AbemaTV, Japan’s principal OTT platform make their Arc debut with a strong editorial focus on native contenders.
  • Fuji TV and The Green Channel will also broadcast in Japan via the JRA betting agreement with PMU.
  • Sportsnet will provide prominent coverage in Canada as they continue to commit to domestic and international horse racing.
  • Viaplay (Scandinavia, Netherlands) and NTV (Mongolia) mark their inaugural broadcast in their respective territories, with the latter adding local language to their coverage.
  • SportsMax will ensure that the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is available in 26 territories across the Caribbean.

Additional European outlets include Virgin Media (Ireland), BBC Radio 5Live, RAI (Italy); WeDoTV (Germany / Switzerland / Austria), Silknet (Georgia), Polsat (Poland), Kanal 75 (Sweden) and Setanta (Balkans and Eurasia).

The US audience will be catered for with Fox Sports showcasing The Golden Hour, highlighting the channel’s on-going commitment to international horse racing. Fandual will provide another regional media opportunity.

Australian viewers can watch free-to-air through Racing.com and Entain’s OTT channels, with the latter also available in New Zealand. Indonesia fans will enjoy coverage of the Arc courtesy of TransVision’s linear and digital channels. Sony Pictures Network will showcase the Golden Hour across the Indian subcontinent.

Audiences in the Middle East have retained their broadcast options with four media channels supporting the event.  DMI (Mena), Al Kass (Qatar) and beIN (Qatar) will transmit the full weekend of racing, with the latter two networks having significant on-course presence with talent. Al Rayyan (Qatar) will add commentary and enhanced production on the Sunday for their viewers.

The Japanese contenders will carry on their chase for an elusive first Arc win for the country with Shin Emperor headlining their field.  As a result, Fuji TV, The Green Channel and AbemaTV will provide significant exposure for this region.

Reuters and SNTV will distribute content to news outlets and Sport24 will broadcast the Golden Hour on airlines and cruise lines. TransWorld Sports will include the race in their monthly magazine show.
