WBD UK commissions Auction House slate
December 3, 2024
Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) UK & Ireland has announced the return of one of WBD’s most popular linear series The Yorkshire Auction House for its sixth season. Produced by STV Studios, the 20×60 episode run will find auctioneer Angus Ashworth traveling the nation decluttering homes filled with unique items, impressive collections and valued family heirlooms. Fans of the series can also look forward to the return of Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House for its fifth season. The 7×60 series will see Ashworth and his team help celebrities, hoping to discover their very own hidden gems.
Both series will air on Really in May 2025, so too will the 10×60 STV Studios-produced The Derbyshire Auction House, back for a second season as Irita Marriott returns to the rostrum, ready for another thrilling season of auctions. Having worked hard to build the business and her reputation as one of Britain’s few female auction house owners, the stakes are now higher than ever for Marriott’s saleroom to continue to thrive and survive past its first year.
Fans of the Auction House franchise can also look forward to a new 8×60 series, Angus Ashworth’s Yorkshire Country House Weekend (w/t), which sees the antiques expert, valuer and historian taking off for a new adventure, visiting some of the county’s vast country estates in a vintage Tiger Moth biplane. In the Air TV-produced series, which comes to Really in September 2025, Ashworth will meet the families trying to preserve these historic country houses for the future and will spend the weekend as a house guest, unearthing the secrets that lie behind the closed doors of stately homes not usually open to the public.
Really will also re-open the doors to Dr Emma Craythorne’s clinic in October 2025, with series eight of The Bad Skin Clinic. Produced by Full Fat TV , the 8×60 series will see Dr Emma, alongside her nurses Mottie and Rosie, tackle more challenging cases, correcting misdiagnoses, treating never-before-seen conditions and helping those with nowhere left to turn. The new series also includes two new specials focusing on individual patients living with a condition more extreme than Craythorne has ever seen.
Really will also see the return of a second season for Yorkshire Air 999 in February 2025. Produced by Air TV, this 16×60 series, packed with real-life drama and stunning scenery, will follow the crew of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service as they take to the skies once again to rescue lives. From perilous mountains to bustling cities and stunning coastlines, the crew of Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s emergency helicopters go far and wide to deal with every type of medical emergency. This series will feature the medics in action and reflecting on their work in moving master interviews, as they grapple with incidents from across the Yorkshire landscape.
Over on Quest, fans of Shed and Buried series can look forward to season seven, airing in May 2025. Produced by HCA Entertainment, this 20×30 series will see Henry and Fuzz hit the road again, scouring the nation’s sheds for hidden automotive treasures. This series includes three hour-long specials that will follow the duo as they dive deeper into the history and restoration of some extraordinary vehicles and take on grander projects, from restoring historic helicopters to refurbishing big cranes or classic combine harvesters.
Shed and Buried: Classic Cars will also return for its second season in March 2025. From Rolls Royce to three-wheel Bond Bugs, these 10×60 episodes will showcase the meticulous work of the UK’s most skilled specialist restorers as they get these forgotten automotive gems back on the road. A festive treat wraps up the year for Shed and Buried fans in 2025 with Sled and Buried, a Christmas special where Henry and Fuzz head to snowy Scandinavia.
Charlotte Reid, VP Commissioning at WBD UK & Ireland, commented: “We are delighted to bring so many of our much-loved, long-standing linear formats back for new seasons in 2025.
