Sony projector chosen for Innervision cinema calibration room

Innervision, a post-production company based in the Grand Est region of France, develops and provides a range of high-performance sound and image post-production services for international producers and broadcasters. With stringent requirements in terms of image quality and silence in theatres, Innervision has chosen Sony’s quality to equip one of its colour-grading rooms and is equipping itself with the VPL-GTZ380 projector, which meets the DCI-P3 and REC709 standards for colour-grading films intended for cinema as well as platforms.
“As a post-production company offering cinema colour grading services on video projectors and monitors, we needed to achieve impeccable image quality and viewing experience. We chose the VPL-GTZ380. The image rendering is stunning: the black is deep and gives an incomparable sensation of contrast,” explained Valentin Goguet-Chapuis, CTO of Innervision.
A high-performance solution
The VPL-GTZ380 combines exceptional contrast, brightness and resolution. Paired with a high dynamic range and a wide colour gamut, it delivers an unprecedented viewing experience. The projector offers 10,000 lumens of brightness from a 0.74-inch SXRD 4K panel, enabling installation in both dark and bright environments. It incorporates a laser light source with 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and supports HDR formats for natural, vibrant colours. Its X1 Ultimate processor, optimised for projection, ensures exceptional image quality with deep blacks and optimised dynamic range. With its compact casing and efficient cooling system, the VPL-GTZ380 integrates easily into a variety of installation environments while remaining silent, emitting just 39dB of sound.
Valentin Goguet-Chapuis, CTO of Innervision, continued: “The VPL-GTZ380 ticks all the boxes to make a reliable calibration tool: it has a very linear gamma curve, offers impeccable homogeneity and remains stable over time. Today, I can say that it’s a guarantee of confidence, and that’s crucial. We get a completely consistent image when we project in cinemas that use other technologies, or when we re-calibrate on our 4K monitor.”
“At Sony Professional Displays & Solutions, we are proud to see companies like Innervision taking full advantage of the capabilities of our VPL-GTZ380 projector. With its outstanding performance in colour reproduction, contrast and quietness, this projector offers an ideal solution for the most demanding colour-grading environments. We are delighted to contribute to Innervision’s success by providing them with tools that improve their workflow and customer satisfaction,” added Maxime Lemoine European Residential Sales Head.
