Mediagenix powers business and content management integration for France Télévisions

January 28, 2025

Mediagenix, a specialist in software solutions for content strategy, value management, and scheduling, has announced a successful deployment for France’s public service broadcaster, France Télévisions.

As France Télévisions’ sole media business management solution, the Mediagenix Platform (formerly WHATS’ON) delivers robust and flexible channel insights, programming, and scheduling. Mediagenix provides France Télévisions with the scalability to adapt to evolving entertainment industry needs, with a streamlined, collaborative, and data-driven content supply chain. The technical integration enables optimised workflows with enhanced efficiency through touchless operations, management by exception, and cross-platform audience engagement.

France Télévisions’ transition from multiple Broadcast Management Systems involved more than 800 users, shifting from legacy solutions to a standardised approach with minimal customisations. France Télévisions now runs on unified processes via AWS cloud hosting, with seamless system integration across content workflows, rights management, and Media Asset Management (MAM). The first playlist aired on December 6th 2023, marking the completion of phase one, which encompassed all national channels.

Phase 2 has now started, which will integrate all the domestic French regions and all overseas stations. Twenty-four regional France 3 antennas and nine overseas stations will join the Mediagenix platform over the next two years.

France Télévisions is the leading public broadcaster in France, reaching audiences across a wide range of television, digital, and on-demand platforms. Its portfolio includes popular channels such as France 2, 3, 4 and 5, and France Info, as well as a robust digital presence through its streaming service, France.tv, alongside other online initiatives. Committed to delivering high-quality content, France Télévisions caters to diverse audiences with a mix of news, entertainment, drama, documentaries, and cultural programming. As a key player in the French media landscape, the group also champions innovation and sustainability in broadcasting, ensuring its programming resonates with contemporary viewers while upholding its public service mission.

Skander Ben Attia, Director of Engineering and Support at France Télévisions, said: “France Télévisions continues to lead the way in the broadcasting industry, with heightened efficiency and innovative tools that enable the consistent delivery of top-quality content to our diverse audience. Our partnership with Mediagenix supports multiple content business and engagement models, ensuring seamless and unified distribution across different platforms.”

Mickael Sangarin, Responsable Projets SI Antennes et Programmes at France Télévisions, said: “France Télévisions strongly believes in the power of business datasets to optimise strategic planning. Mediagenix enhances content visibility, scheduling control, and decision-making capabilities, allowing us to maximise content ROI. We opted for a standardised solution strategy and appreciated the flexibility to manage integrations in-house with ongoing support from the Mediagenix team.”

Françoise Semin, Chief Commercial Officer at Mediagenix, said: “Our collaboration has been highly successful throughout the France Télévisions project, spanning workshops where solution designs were formulated, through to the migration of the on-prem installation to the cloud and the establishment and support of environments. Mediagenix has empowered France Télévisions with actionable intelligence, by serving as a single source of truth, connecting strategy, planning, and execution workflows.”

The Mediagenix Platform has become a preferred choice for broadcasters and media organisations aiming to streamline operations, engage audiences, and stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing media landscape.
