Telia’s network tops Swedish rankings
January 29, 2025

Telia’s Swedish mobile network has been named the best in the country by the umlaut benchmark for the fifth year in a row. With top scores in all categories, the result makes Telia one of the leading five operators in the world.
Conducted annually, umlaut’s assessment is a detailed measurement of operator performance in three categories – voice services, data services and crowdsourced quality – that together give a clear picture of the user experience. The tests cover both large cities and rural areas.
In the latest benchmark, Telia scored a total of 971 points from a possible 1,000. It’s an increase from last year’s result – and a number that qualifies as ‘exceptional’ on a global scale.
Looking at the three categories, Telia received 267 points from 270 in voice services, 469 from 480 in data services, and 235 from 250 in crowdsourced quality.
Anders Olsson, Head of Telia Sweden, commented: “We’re proud that our mobile network has again been named the best – and to be the only operator in Sweden to qualify as world-class. This is the result of major investments in modernizing and future-proofing our infrastructure. We’ve doubled our 4G capacity and rolled out 5G to 95 per cent of the Swedish population. Continuing to deliver robust, secure and reliable connectivity is core for us, especially in today’s unstable times when Sweden’s digital defenses need to be strengthened.”
