Road to Super Bowl LIX: Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles prepare for the final showdown

Sunday delivered an electrifying day of football as the American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC) Championship games featured fierce clashes that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles claimed victory, earning a chance to make history at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on 9th February. Their journey to Super Bowl LIX has been one of passion and resilience, with many impressive and memorable moments.

AFC Championship: Chiefs prevail against the Buffalo Bills

In a heavyweight game, the Chiefs wrestled victory from the Buffalo Bills with 3:33 remaining on the clock as Harrison Butker’s 35-yard field goal set the Chiefs up to finish with a score of 32-29 at the end of the fourth quarter. The nail-biting game was the Chiefs’ 17th straight in games decided by one score – an NFL record, which positions them to potentially become the first team to win three consecutive championships in the Super Bowl era.

NFC Championship: Eagles mount successful offensive against the Washington Commanders

In the NFC, the Eagles beat their NFC East rivals – the Washington Commanders – for the second time this season, gaining their second trip to the Super Bowl in three years. In a dominant display, the Eagles scored 55 points, secured seven rushing touchdowns and rushed for 229 yards – reaching the 200-yard rushing mark in back-to-back playoff games for the first time in franchise history.
