Eagle Eye Drama hires Giammetta as Director of Drama

Eagle Eye Drama, part of ITV Studios, and one of the UK’s fastest growing drama producers has today announced the appointment of award-winning drama writer and director, Carolina Giammetta in a newly created role as Director of Drama.
Giammetta is currently completing production on upcoming series Bookish which she directed, created by and starring Mark Gatiss, which will air later this year on UKTV’s channel U & Alibi. Her other recent credits include Suspect Season 2 with Anne-Marie Duff for Channel 4 and Before We Die, Season 2, starring Lesley Sharp also for Channel 4.
In her new role she will continue to develop and direct new dramas for the company whilst also coming on board as executive producer for their growing slate.
In 2021 she directed a four-part ITV drama, Hollington Drive starring Anna Maxwell Martin. Prior to this, in 2020, she directed her first authored piece – the four-part series, The Drowning, for Channel 5, starring Jill Halfpenny, Rupert Penry-Jones and Jonas Armstrong.

Eagle Eye Drama, launched in 2018 by Walter Iuzzolino, Jo McGrath and Jason Thorp, (the team also behind international drama streaming service, Walter Presents on Channel 4), produces a wide breadth of scripted content from original dramas to adaptations of critically acclaimed international series for English speaking audiences, with its slate featuring a raft of hit returning shows including ITV’s Professor T and period drama Hotel Portofino for UKTV, Channel 4’s Before We Die and Suspect, as well as The Couple Next Door, which was Channel 4’s biggest ever scripted launch and most recently, Patience, the intriguing smash hit crime drama set in York with Laura Fraser and Ella Maisy Purvis.
