VoD streaming service Wuaki.tv has signed a new deal with Icon Film Distribution to increase its focus on high quality independent movies.

Icon Film Distribution is one of the UK’s fastest growing independent distributors focusing on distinctive feature films. The deal will immediately add a selection of library movies, including; Drive, Precious and A Single Man to the Wuaki.tv range as well as new releases titles such as A Most Violent Year which is released in May.

Simon Homent, European Content Director for Wuaki.tv, said the service was keen to support local and independent films and he saw the agreement as a great step towards offering its users an enhanced movie and TV service. “Wuaki.tv’s European growth throughout 2014 and 2015 is down to great partnerships, excellent content and, of course, our dedicated customers. Without one of these elements 2015 wouldn’t look like the great year it’s already shaping up to be,” he declared.
