March 20, 2012

Online kids channel Toon Goggles has signed a licensing agreement with software pioneer PacketVideo that gives Toon Goggle viewers the ability to beam programming from iPads and Android devices to their home  TVs with the Twonky Beam Browser video streaming app; it was announced today by Stephen Hodge, Executive Vice President of New Media at Toon Goggles.

Under the agreement, PacketVideo will prominently feature a Toon Goggles link on the Twonky Beam Brower  homepage where viewers can instantly access the Toon Goggles library of kid friendly programming and use the Twonky app to beam the programming directly to any Internet-connected TV, without needing cables to connect the devices.  Viewers can then control  the playback and volume on the TV with their tablet devices.

“Toon Goggles has positioned itself to be at the forefront of technology in the children’s entertainment  space and our partnership with Twonky is no exception.  Their revolutionary second-screen experience will help bring Toon Goggles’ kid-safe content to millions of televisions around the world,” said James Cahall, Executive Vice President of Technology.

“I see this partnership as a huge milestone for Toon Goggles and I look forward to future projects with  Twonky Beam Browser, myTwonky and PacketVideo,” adds Hodge.

“This partnership with Toon Goggles is a major move forward in our goal to bring all types of content  from the web to a second-screen,” said Jerome Rota, Sr. VP of Consumer Products and Services, PacketVideo.  “We are excited to be partnering with Toon Goggles to provide this family friendly content to the users of our Twonky Beam Browser and look forward  to a partnership that is beneficial for both companies and the customer.”

Launched in 2011, ToonGoggles.com is a free portal where children can enjoy an ever growing library of  entertaining programming that is pre-screened and determined to be safe and age appropriate for children under the age of 13.  Hundreds of content producers from around the globe are currently supplying animated features, programs, series, clips and trailers  to Toon Goggles’ rich library that children can enjoy and parents can feel good about.
