Key speakers and the theme for the RTS Cambridge Convention 2015 have been revealed. The biennial event, which takes place in Cambridge from 16th – 18th September, will explore, Happy Valley or House of Cards. Television in 2020 – the challenges for content, creativity and business models.
This year, BBC Director-General Tony Hall will be chairing the convention. He says, “The TV landscape is changing fast. Viewers have access to a multitude of new ways to watch their favourite programmes, and since the last RTS Cambridge Convention in 2013 there have been seismic changes across the production sector. The 2015 convention will bring together senior industry figures and future leaders to analyse and debate the industry as a whole.”
Over the course of three days, the RTS Cambridge Convention 2015 will aim to discover what further surprises may lie in store for the industry and how content creation and business models will need to adapt to face the future. It will also explore what the next decade holds for Public Service Broadcasting in the UK.
Headline speakers will include David Abraham, CEO, Channel 4; Philippe Dauman, President and CEO of Viacom; Tony Hall, Director-General of the BBC; Michael Lombardo, HBO’s President of Programming; Josh Sapan, President and CEO of AMC Networks; Sharon White, CEO of Ofcom and David Zaslav, President and CEO of Discovery Communications.
