November 10, 2016

The British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE) – the UK body which represents the interests of publishers and rights-owners of pre-recorded filmed entertainment – has appointed James Duvall as the new Head of Insight for the organisation.

Duvall will lead the BASE Insight function, which also encompasses insight responsibility for The Industry Trust for IP Awareness and Digital Entertainment Group Europe (DEGE).

Bringing with him a wealth of knowledge from across retail and home entertainment sectors, Duvall has over ten years’ analytical experience having undertaken insight roles at both Sainsbury’s and Warner Home Entertainment.

Most recently, he has fulfilled the role of Business Intelligence Manager for Aptean, working on the Walt Disney Home Entertainment account where he led the UK Vision/Disney team on a number of business-critical projects.

“I’m incredibly excited about stepping in to this central role within the industry and using my past experience to drive actionable insights across the evolving category for the benefit of our members,” stated Duvall.

“James’s skills and expertise dovetail seamlessly with the requirements of the three organisations, he will bring enormous value to this pivotal role and strengthen the already talented team that we have in place,” added Liz Bales, Chief Executive, BASE. “I look forward to welcoming James and team and officially introducing him to members and stakeholders over the coming weeks.”
