Bloomberg to offer Arabic business channel

September 25, 2017

Bloomberg is extending its financial news channel into the Arabic language. Bloomberg Al Arabiya will be a joint-venture with publishing house Saudi Research & Marketing, and based in the Saudi capital Riyadh although with other regional offices in Dubai and other important business and trading cities.

The broadcast channel will launch within a year and a web-site and Arabic magazine to precede the TV channel within the next 6 months or so.

This is not the first time that Bloomberg has attempted an Arabic service.  Bloomberg had partnered with Lebanese billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and the contract called for 5 hours of Arabic business news per day. But that project was aborted on the very first day of transmission from its Bahrain studios.
