Seven out of ten Spanish households receive DTT, with Canaries Islands, Madrid, Catalonia and Aragon enjoying the highest penetrations, according to the latest report by Impulsa TDT.
Every day, 18.1 million viewers watch DTT with an average audience share of 45.3 per cent against analogue TV's 33.6 per cent and multichannel TV's 21.1 per cent.
21.8 million DTT devices have already been sold in the market, 30 per cent of them, 6.5 million, over the last eight months. IDTVs are the preferred option with 411,900 units sold in August against STB's 268,000.
Impulsa TDT has protested the fact that analogue TV sets are still being sold (3,185 units in August) despite the fact that the analogue switch-off will completely take place in less than six months.
