FCC ‘leaks’ Netgear and Asus Google TV devices
December 3, 2012
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filings in the US have revealed new Google TV devices from Netgear and Asus.
While the testing documents for the Netgear STB – tentatively called the NeoTV Prime – don’t show the device that plugs in to the TV, it does reveal a Bluetooth-connected, Qwerty keyboard remote with a trackpad. The remote has embedded buttons to presumably launch Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go and the like. The fillings also reveal the STB to include 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0.
The Asus device is believed to be a TV dongle called Qube, which could serve as a media streamer to replace the ill-fated Nexus Q.
