EBS signs deal with new African entertainment channel YANGA!

March 5, 2018

International EPG services provider EBS has announced a key delivery deal with YANGA!, a new African entertainment channel launching in the UK. All YANGA! EPG and scheduling information will now be distributed across Sky platforms nationwide by EBS’ scheduling and content delivery team.

Billed as a “positive alternative to the established narrative”, YANGA! is an inclusive platform for African entertainment with a focus on original commissions and relatable content. All YANGA! scheduling and metadata distribution will be handled exclusively through EBS’ unparalleled and highly adaptable Pawa2 metadata solution.

“Getting to do business with exciting channels like YANGA! is a huge part of why I love my job,” explains EBS Managing Director Keith Bedford. “It’s a great new venture providing for a largely untapped audience, and another opportunity to show what a top-flight system we have in Pawa2.”

Pawa2 allows content suppliers to easily adapt their EPGs to the needs of any distribution platform, anywhere in the world. It ensures that media companies can effortlessly control brand consistency across all outlets, regardless of where and when content is accessed.

As well as being a one-stop database for organising and distributing schedules and metadata, the software is also capable of providing separate libraries for every channel a client operates. This ensures that data always fits a channel identity, and allows broadcasters to manage tailored workflows for linear and non-linear services internally.
“As we work with more and more fantastic new clients and partners, Pawa2’s capabilities continue to expand and grow at the same time,” Keith adds. “We’re entering 2018 on a high, and I can’t wait to see what else lies in store for us over the year ahead.”
