FTTH penetration in Spain is significantly growing with almost 7 million connected homes as of February 28th.

The latest data from the CNMC reveals that over the last year (February 2017 to February 2018) FTTH gained 1.8 million and over 167,000 only in February 2018.

Telefónica’s Movistar leads the market with a share of 50.4 per cent, with 3.5 million.

The FTTH growth contrasts with the decline of DSL lines, which is down 1.3 million over the last year.

Fixed broadband lines amounted to 14.5 million, the equivalent of 31.1 lines per 100 inhabitants.
