Molotov adds 4K Earth channel The Explorers

French OTT TV platform Molotov has enriched its service with 4K docunentary channel The Explorers, with the ‘Earth’s first UHD inventory’ sightseeing on the most spectacular places of the planet. The channel is available to the basic subscribers without any additional charge. The one-hour stream will be shown each week and around 100 short videos are also being made accessible.

All the content is also available in HD/UHD on smartphones, tablets, computers, smart TVs and in 4K from Apple TV 4K, Android TV 4K and Chromecast Ultra. After Luxe.tv, The Explorers is the second 4K channel distributed by Molotov. Founded by Pierre Lescure, Jean-Marc Denoual and Jean-David Blanc, Molotov claims 6.5 million users.

The service, which is targeting 100 million subscribers in the next five years, is available free of charge or with a pay option to access additional pay-TV channels. Since last March, pay users are able to use their app throughout Europe.
