EspañaTV launches in France

November 7, 2019

EspañaTV, the Spanish-language channel bouquet launched by AMC Networks International Southern Europe and ATRESMEDIA Internacional, is now available for the first time in France on IPTV platforms SFR and Free, two of the country’s major pay-TV operators. The seven-channel pack is a varied offering of Spanish-language television content marketed outside of Spain, with channels specialised in the country’s cuisine, cinema, music, current events, series and entertainment.

The channel bouquet is available to pay-TV operators across Europe, and this news follows the recent launch of EspañaTV on MEO, one of Portugal’s biggest subscription television platforms. The channels are also widely available across pay-TV operators in Spain.

Through EspañaTV, AMC offers its popular thematic channels Canal Cocina, specialised in Spanish cuisine, an essential part of Spain’s identity; Canal Decasa, with original productions covering home décor, health and beauty; Sol Música, the 100 per cent music channel produced in Spain; and Somos, with a selection of classic movies from Spain. ATRESMEDIA supplies the bouquet with Antena 3 Internacional, one of Spain’s leading news and entertainment channels; Atreseries, with acclaimed original series produced by ATRESMEDIA, and Atrescine, a channel that premieres recent Spanish films.

Manuel Balsera, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of AMCNISE, said: “These new launches build on AMCNISE’s presence in the French pay-TV market and highlight the growing demand from operators for our high-quality, distinctive content and brands as we continue to expand our footprint internationally. EspañaTV is now seen on several pay-TV platforms across Europe, and we are looking forward to building on our partnership with ATRESMEDIA and operators across the region to increase the reach of this outstanding channel bouquet.”

Mar Martínez-Raposo, General Manager of Atresmedia Internacional, added: “With this launch we expand our presence in France, where Atresmedia Internacional has been present since 2010 and where the greatest number of Spanish residents live. They are precisely the target audience whom we would like to attract to EspañaTV as it offers an interesting and diverse package of television channels.”

Through this partnership AMCNISE and ATRESMEDIA provide operators outside of Spain with an exclusive and diverse range of Spanish TV content, meeting the growing demand for Spanish-language content in other European countries, which is a market of more than 23 million Spanish-speakers.
