At the Edinburgh TV Festival, Georgia Brown, Director of European Originals for Amazon Studios, announced two new Amazon Original shows, including an immersive reality dating show and the musical drama series, Jungle.

The eight-part reality dating show, produced by Studio Lambert, will see a cast of unlucky-in-love Brits try to find ‘the one’ by going back to High School for a second time. The participants won’t just be going ‘back to school’ but entering the nostalgic picture-perfect world of 80s, 90s and 00s American High School movies to complete a search for love.

“We are thrilled to be bringing this brand-new format to Prime Video,” said Brown. “We can’t wait to see these singles immersed in an all-American High School experience, and cast them as the stars in their very own teen movie in the hope of them finding love!

Jungle follows the connected lives of two separate strangers, each facing their own struggles, viewed through the prism of UK grime and drill music. The series, produced by Nothing Lost, will be told through a blend of music and dialogue, working alongside creatively ambitious cinematography and design to create a tilted, timeless version of today’s world.

“We are incredibly excited to be working with Nothing Lost on this brilliantly fresh and unique UK Amazon Original series,” said Brown. “Jungle will shine a light on the amazing creativity of the UK’s drill, grime and rap music scenes and hopefully empower a varied collection of British storytellers to create captivating content which reflects the diversity of the UK today.”
