Network4 launches Story4

February 9, 2023

Network4 group, which operates several entertainment channels in Hungary, has launched its first channel in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The new channel, Story4, with its romantic and family-friendly quality series and films, is aimed primarily at female viewers. It will be broadcast in HD quality.

Story4 is the first channel to be launched in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by the Luxembourg-based Network4 Group. Network4’s main operations are in Hungary. As the most dynamically expanding media company in Hungary, Network4 successfully operates a portfolio of five general entertainment channels (TV4, Film4, Story4, Galaxy4, Max4), two sports channels (Arena4, Match4) and a streaming service (Net4+).

The concept of the new channel has been carefully tailored to the needs of the Czech and Slovak markets. The channel offers a quality alternative for those who want to watch popular, high-quality European productions instead of, or in addition to, Hollywood content. The newest TV channel in the Czech Republic and Slovakia launches with family-friendly, romantic films and series, as well as light crime stories. More than 1,000 hours’ worth of entertainment awaits viewers at launch, with 500 hours of new content added each year. More than half of the programmes were produced after 2014, and 80 per cent are only available on Story4, offering an exclusive experience. STORY4 also presents seven series that have never been seen on the Czech or Slovak market. All films and series presented to the public will be dubbed.

“We conducted extensive research before launching the channel. We came to the conclusion that there is a lack of linear TV channels that meet the needs of female viewers, who want quality content and to put them first. This is how Story4 was born, and it is unlike anything else available on the market today. Our slogan is ‘for true romantics who love a good story’, and accordingly, we bring the most romance to Czech and Slovak viewers,” said András Borsány-Gyenes, President of the Luxembourg-based Network4 Group and Budapest-based DMC/Digital Media and Communications Ltd.

“International know-how and serving local needs are factors that guarantee the success of Story4. We have been operating the entire portfolio of entertainment channels in Hungary for several years. Network4 has taken the first step to become an indispensable player in the regional market, with its diversified portfolio available on multiple platforms,” said Tamás Horváth, CFO and deputy CEO of the company.
