Farncombe acquires Top Up TV testing facilities

Farncombe, the specialist consultancy, has announced the launch of the Farncombe Test Lab, following an agreement to acquire the laboratory testing facilities of UK pay-DTT operator Top Up TV.
The Farncombe Test Lab will continue to work with Top Up TV, which will be out-sourcing its future testing requirements to Farncombe, whose team has been providing consultancy, software engineering and testing support to the operator over many years. Former Top Up TV CTO Simon Dore will be joining Farncombe to work with its many clients and oversee and help grow the Test Lab operation.
Farncombe is using the Test Lab to broaden its own independent testing services portfolio and engineering expertise to the digital TV industry. In addition to DTT testing, Farncombe also provides a range of testing services to cable, satellite, IPTV, OTT and Connected TV service providers, including the use of automated testing technologies and testing secure implementations.
The Farncombe Test Lab is now located at international broadcast services company WRN Broadcast’s secure hosting facility, the Broadcast Data Centre, in Vauxhall, London.
