Crackle, NBCUniversal content deal

crackleCrackle and NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution have announced an exclusive, multi-year content licensing deal to stream feature films from NBCUniversal’s film library on the free, ad-supported streaming service. Effective immediately, Crackle users will instantly have access to several new library feature films, with more than 140 new library titles rolling out over the next three years.

The deal gives Crackle the exclusive ad-supported VoD rights to a variety of feature films including the big-screen reboot of Miami Vine, Jarhead and King Kong.

“Crackle is an innovative and growing new platform and we are excited that their viewers will be able to enjoy these great films from Universal’s film library,” said Todd Whiting, senior vice president for NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution.
