June 8, 2017

Spanish telco Telefónica has launched its Movistar Play VoD service in Ecuador, with content provided by Grey Juice Lab.

The new service, which is Telefónica’s first video service in Ecuador, will enable its customers to rent the popular blockbuster movies including Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Ghost in the Shell, Beauty and the Beast and Wonder Woman, among others.

Grey Juice Lab has worked closely with the local team to identify their needs and define the best strategy for the service. It will provide Telefónica with more than 500 movies a year from major Hollywood studios Warner Bros, Disney, NBC Universal, Paramount, Fox and Lionsgate.

Grey Juice Lab is also providing Telefónica with content processing and delivery services, subtitle and metadata creation, content programming and marketing.

Damián Craimowicz, Regional Director for Grey Juice Lab LATAM said: “It’s great to be working with the team at Telefónica again on this latest service. Together we’ve created a compelling content offering that we’re sure will appeal to the local audience. We have a solid partnership and strong track record of success with Telefónica across Latam and this latest project is more proof of that.”

This is the latest in a series of Movistar Play services for which Grey Juice Lab offers premium content and services. Other territories include Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Central America.
