Orange 4.6m pay-TV subs

July 28, 2011

Orange reached 4.6 million subscribers for its pay-TV services in Europe by the end of the first half of 2011, having added 977,000 customers in the preceding 12 months, mostly in France and Poland.

The France Telecom unit saw the TV customer base in its native country rise 28 per cent year-on-year to reach 3.9 million by the end of June.

Total revenues across all operations for the first half of 2011 reached €22.569 billion, up 0.3 per cent from 12 months previously, while net profits fell from €3.7 billion to €1.95 billion in the same period – partly due to the setting up of UK-based joint venture Everything Everywhere in April.
