FOX acquires Eredivisie Dutch soccer

August 8, 2012

FOX International Channels (FIC) has partnered with Eredivisie Media & Marketing (EMM) by acquiring a 51 per cent stake. EMM, a company established in 2008 by the 18 Dutch Premier League (Eredivisie) football clubs and global TV production company Endemol, handles all the corporate media and sponsorship rights on behalf of the Dutch Premier League (Eredivisie) and is known for the creation of the dedicated football channel “Eredivisie Live.”

The new partnership, which was unanimously agreed to by the 18 Eredivisie clubs, KNVB (Dutch National Soccer Association) and Endemol, marries the successful Dutch Premier League media rights with FIC’s global expertise in sports and entertainment programming.

In the Netherlands, FIC broadcasts such channels as National Geographic Channel and the digital channels 24Kitchen, Nat Geo Wild and FOXlife.
