Box Television expands in Europe, East Africa

jayzBox Television has launched channels in Hungary and Tanzania, expanding the music TV network’s reach into Central Europe and strengthening its presence in East Africa.

Pop chart channel Smash Hits, launched on the dominant Hungarian platform, Magyar Telekom. It is the first in a number of planned European launches for this year.

The Box Africa launched on Tanzanian DTH platform, Azam TV, adding another African operator to the list of carriers, which also includes Zuku and Zap. The Box Africa and its sister channels, Smash Hits, Kiss, Magic and Kerrang! are also broadcasting across South Africa on Star Times and Star Sat, with a number of additional launches planned for this year to grow the African footprint.
