As previously announced, AMC Global acquired international television rights to the series, and plans to air each episode globally within 24 hours of its US premiere. AMC Global, the international AMC-branded television network, launched in late 2014 and is available in over 115 countries and territories. AMC has picked up the series for two seasons.
The new series will be set in Los Angeles and focused on new characters and storylines. The show’s first season will consist of six, one-hour episodes and premiere on AMC later this year. The show’s second season will air in 2016.
“We’re thrilled to bring audiences worldwide Fear The Walking Dead within 24 hours of the US premiere so that fans can experience the excitement of one of the year’s most anticipated new dramas together exclusively on AMC Global,” commented Bruce Tuchman, President of AMC and Sundance Channel Global. “AMC has created some of the most compelling programming on television in recent years, and this new show will perfectly complement the popular films and exclusive original series showcased on the network.”
