ABOX42 unveils package of innovations at TV Connect

The converging of traditional cable networks and new IP Services offers a huge challenge for network operators. At TV Connect 2015 ABOX42 (www.abox42.com) is unveiling innovations, which help operators to migrate hassle free from legacy Set Top Box platforms to a latest technology solution for the first screen and beyond. The leading supplier of OTT, IPTV and Hybrid DVB Set-Top-Box platforms is showing for the first time the latest generation M40 Smart STB platform for IPTV, OTT & Hybrid. This latest technology model of the M-series product range supports HEVC / H.265 for more efficient streaming of video content. Furthermore M40 is based on the latest Chipset technology from Broadcom, which is supporting up to 4K / UHD (Ultra HD) video resolution.
Next to the latest Set Top Box innovations ABOX42 showcases at its TV CONNECT Booth No.78 the newest version of OPX TV, the compelling TV application and backend solution, now available for IPTV, OTT and Hybrid DVB projects. OPX TV offers a variety of new features and functionalities, such as full HbbTV support, IP based or DVB based EPG and capability to run both IPTV, OTT and traditional DVB channels in a unified channel list.
With regards to Content Security, ABOX42 added “Expressplay”, the DRM solution from Intertrust / Marlin to the portfolio of DRM and software based Conditional Access (CAS) systems, which enables operators to run different security systems for different applications or services side by side on the ABOX42 platform.
With the expanded M-Series Smart STBs including advanced software features and permanently optimized Set-Top-Box technology, ABOX42 now offers an extensive product line portfolio to meet all operators´ requirements up to 3rd Generation DVB-C, T/T2, S2 Hybrid Smart STBs deployments with different feature and price sets. This supports the product management of the operators to define their future roadmap of their service based on the ABOX42 STB product line.
