September 4, 2015
Inverto, developer and marketer of broadcast reception and streaming products and leader in the hybrid STB product category for the pay-TV market intends to offer its super fast industry reference HTML5 browser & HbbTV software stacks to Android based set top box and TV manufacturers. The software was developed by Inverto to support its hybrid set top box product range for the HD+ market in Germany and it is considered as the industry’s reference HbbTV implementation by all leading players including TV broadcasters, DTH platform operators and satellite operators.
Inverto’s HTML 5 browser and HbbTV implementation has been repeatedly demonstrated itself to be one of the fastest and best performing in the marketplace being ranked the top performer at all IRT’s annual interoperability plug fasts in Munich over the last 4 years.
Inverto will also pursue discussions on offering these same manufacturers its complete and SES-certified SAT>IP and Terrestrial>IP Server and Client software stacks and apps to be added to the above software offer.
Paul Clark, VP of Business Development believes that there are opportunities for Inverto’s software implementation to be licenced to TV manufacturers. He said “I believe our proposition with field proven and certified SAT-IP components is more complete, less complex and offers the manufacturers greater flexibility in system integration, is more optimized in terms of memory footprint and CPU DMIPS requirements and that once the manufacturers see its merits in both performance and pricing then we will start having some meaningful dialogues with them”.
