Cannes satellite facility flooded

Last weekend’s catastrophic floods in and around Cannes on the Cote d’Azur also flooded the nearby Thales Alenia satellite manufacturing facility.
While large areas of the seaside factory were affected by water ingress, Thales Alenia say no satellites were damaged as all were in secure ‘clean rooms’.
The Cannes region floods left at least 20 people dead, and the town’s telephone, wireless and data communications in chaos. All the town’s banks were closed, for example, until at least Thursday Oct 8.
Thales Alenia said the water damage affected store rooms and other non-crucial areas.
