Amdocs helps Liberty launch MVNO in Austria, Ireland
February 3, 2016
Amdocs, a provider of customer experience solutions, has announced that Liberty Global, the largest international cable company serving 27 million customers across 14 countries, has launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) operations at UPC Austria and Virgin Media Ireland using the Amdocs Compact Convergence solution.
By adding mobile to existing cable, fixed-line and broadband Internet lines of business, UPC Austria and Virgin Media Ireland, both part of the Liberty Global group, will be able to offer even more value to their customers with bundled offerings and promotions as well as mobile only. Delivered in a managed services model, the Amdocs Compact Convergence solution spans multiple business and operational support systems (B/OSS) for ordering, provisioning, service creation and delivery, real-time charging and billing. Leveraging the solution’s multi-tenancy capabilities, the two new Liberty Global MVNOs were deployed on a single platform in less than a year, operating cost-efficiently and delivering a consistent customer experience, while defining and managing their own offerings and tariffs under their own brand.
“Amdocs Compact Convergence delivers a broad range of core B/OSS capabilities as a truly integrated stack. This helps to ease deployment, enable smooth operation and reduce our time to market for new offerings,” said Volker Libovsky, vice president of IT Integration at Liberty Global & CIO of Liberty Global subsidiaries Unitymedia, UPC Cablecom and UPC Austria. “With its ability to support multiple affiliates on one platform, Amdocs Compact Convergence has empowered us with the business agility to launch mobile operations and expand to quad-play in five markets in less than two years.”
